Here's the thing - Almost without exception, in every podcast, interview and 'shoot', Pro Wrestlers all talk about 'drawing dimes' as the single most important thing, to the exclusion of everything else. There is no other creative medium on the plant where the people making it are so nakedly mercenary, without any regard for artistry or creativity. It's no wonder that pro wrestling fans (well, the tiny minority that make up the hardcore IWC that infect 4chan and plebbit) are also obsessed with money.
Personally, I think fans who only care about drawing dimes are morons - Whether or not a show I like draws 0.5 Million, or 5 million only matters to the extent that I don't want it to be cancelled. But I understand why they think that way - The people they grew up idolizing have spent decades telling fans that creativity and artistry are not considerations in Wrestling.
Btw, I don't watch AEW, so the people who get angry at what I've said don't call me a coping aewtist.
