>>14587044This is true, Tony Khan chose high school bullshit over drawing money after Brawl Out, and he doubled down on it after Brawl In. You can hear it in the way Kenny Omega speaks about those past incidents, he knows the wrong choices were made on the management side, and the result is a wrestling side that continues to be uninteresting and uninspired.
Adding more marquee wrestlers to AEW is like adding Shrimp Scampi and Lobster Ravioli to the menu at a dumpy, failing restaurant on the bad side of town. Failing restaurants don't merely need to add more menu items, and AEW doesn't simply need more wrestlers -- it needs to use the wrestlers it already has more effectively and build towards the future.
Time will tell what happens with Swerve but I don't have a great feeling about it. Dancing doesn't sell tickets and nobody needs a 7th "Whose house?" shirt. The man needs to come up with new material ASAP.
