eh not really, ECW was a bit more cutting edge, I don't think there's really a promotion truly carrying on its legacy, GCW maybe but it needs some work too, there's an edge lacking and rebellious spirit that isn't quite with those brands right now, blood will only take you so far

except it's not similar to ECW at all. ECW was presented and accepted as an alternative. AEW is more and more similar to WWE as time passes both in personnel and aesthetic.
