>>14692272Maybe I am alone in thinking this but the absolute failure of this game is going to hurt AEW long term. Or, at the very least, it was their biggest missed opportunity to build their audience. Video games are huge now. It made sense to want to make an AEW video game. It's one of the very first things I would have tried to do if I was the owner of a wrestling company.
But my god did they fuck it up from top to bottom. Way too much focus on mini-games. Terrible presentation (10 second entrances in 2023? da fuck?) that looks nothing like AEW itself, it looks like a PS3 game that got covered in slime. Horrible CAW options, which makes it feel like they should have just left out a CAW option altogether, giving Kenny and the Bucks actual creative power because they played WWF No Mercy in 2000? Every decision they made was the wrong one. You don't need to be a wrestling fan to enjoy wrestling games. I was playing the NES wrestling games way before I ever actually watched pro wrestling. Doing that helped turn me into a fan eventually. AEW could have done the same with Fight Forever but that's not gonna happen with a game that looks like its of the same quality as something like Backyard Wrestling.
So yeah, I do think that this is something that is going to be a bad look for them for a long time. They may never make another video game and that's kinda sad.
