The biggest barrier for Women = off the top tope for something that isn't a crossbody, dropkick or moonsault, or a springboard anything at all. Basketball without dunking isn't exciting and neither is wrestling with purely mat psychology. I'm not talking about doing 720 reverse twisting fuckinators, but you have to have some explosiveness or your shit will be boring.
With that said, there's some NXT talents that are on their way up but it'll be a few years until they're ready. AEW women get mostly pity applause, and the taller women (Statlander, Hayter, soon: Bayne, Kamille) all work basically the same matches and move sets, making them fully interchangeable.
Willow is probably my favorite female wrestler atm (I rarely watch WWE), her moves are impactful and she can work the crowd. She doesn't get lost mid-match, shuffling from spot to spot, she doesn't move at half-speed like Skye Blue, Julia Hart or others.
Women's wrestling still has a long way to go, but it's getting there. 30 years of hiring fangirls and ringrats is finally giving way for gymnasts, track athletes, basektball players and so on who can actually pull off athletic moves.
