This. Took the most critical part of their story for Wardlow and made it entirely about himself and his outside drama. That's after getting to benefit from bitching Wardlow out on tv for god knows how long they were paired up. I'd be pissed

He no showed some fan signing the day before and was threatening to fly back home and no show the ppv over wanting more money or something along the lines of that. It turned the entire thing from a fun storyline drama of 'oh wow I can't wait to see Wardlow finally get his over MJF' to a real life 'oh shit is MJF even going to show up to this and have the match' type drama. Wardlow wasn't even really on anyone's minds after it

Yeah, apparently he's there for the long haul, which is good. He could really be their flagship guy. But the stuff with Adam Cole was all time terrible wrestle crap. No exaggeration. It was the worst feud AEW has ever done. And they are still paying for it. Max was the worst drawing AEW champ as well.

It just wasn't good either. Even if none of the injuries happened and it played out as you could imagine. I'm not against stories that have an obvious ending. If it's been told coherently and well that could even be a good thing. It just wasn't interesting. It was stupid and goofy and took up way too much fucking time every week. Not to mention all the bullshit titles from ROH it dragged back onto AEW tv after Tony had just finally seemed to fix the AEW vs ROH separation problem

I know we can never blame Tony’s booking here as it’s never his fault, but Tony had wardlow go out and cut a promo on internet trolls talking about how wardlows push. He also cut a promo saying he didn’t want to be interim champion because he wanted to fight CM Punk, who was champion at the time, if he was interim champion when punk returned he would have gotten to fight Punk, so the promo made him look retarded. Then he won the gold sonic ring that’s a shot at wwe/brass ring reference and then he fucked around with the tnt belt and that’s about when I stopped watching.
