He was only there because Vince is a total retard with a muscle fetish and because he was able to get into a relationship with Stephaine. He had a good look and was decent enough into the ring, but he never had the charisma to be an actual top guy. Every time they tried to make him the face of the company, he failed. The reality is that, as much as WWE's PR department and revisionist history try to claim otherwise, Paul was never the guy. He didn't invest the Attitude Era with Shawn and DX, he wasn't on the level of the top stars, and he has done vast amounts of damage to wrestling worldwide in service of his monstrous ego.
