But yes, AEWs biggest problem is roster bloat, Tony wanting to be a philanthropist and a job provider instead of a lean, mean machine. Guys at the top are making more than enough to wrestle ONCE per week, but that gets pushed to 0.5 so that random jobbers, NJPW also-rans and CMLL nobodies can be brought in. It's really frustrating.
Guys like Daniel Garcia need to speak to the live crowd more, not dance, not do backstage segments. Swerve needs the mic once a week, even if it's just a minute or two before he's interrupted. He needs to establish a presence outside of Nana dancing and yelling Whose house. They have guys up and down the roster that need constant TV time in all areas and just aren't getting it, but we can sure get Dante Martin vs Orange Cassidy for 14 minutes. It's untenable.
You can hit WWE where it hurts and borrow/win over a giant chunk of their viewers, particularly the younger ones that are more likely to spend on tickets and merch. But you won't do it with Collision/Rampage in the banger+squash state and Dynamite being the only show trying to make major changes. You need all hands on deck.
