Have you watched these two based retards youtube show? It's fucking hilarious. Basically they just jump on a train and go to some random ward in the tokyo area. When they get out they call a cab and ask the driver to take them to a restaurant in the area that he likes. TLD main event is only cool when it is Kenoh and Nakajima going balls to the wall for sixty minutes straight for a double title match. Watching Go try to carry Misawa's murder for 30 minutes is not fun. I get that it was a lot of psychological spots built around Go's bad arm, but that seemed more a matter of necessity than one of choice. At least the audience was into this match and the Makai guy from Zero1 came to get his title back.

The Fujita match was painful to watch and killed the crowd. Like there was barely even any polite clapping when the match ended.

The Akiyama/Kotoge match was match of the night. Physical, methodic, and got the audience hyped when they went into the crowd and Jun started laying in those chair shots.

I don't like seeing Noah in a place like the Shinkiba 1st Ring, but it is a smart move from a booking standpoint as it lowers the overhead and looks better on tape then a bigger venue that is sparsely filled. For these kind of low stakes filler shows between the big ones is makes sense.

Rising Hayato is small, fast like a bullet, does crazy aerial shit, and sells so well it will work you more often then not. Draws all the bitches.

Ren Ayabe is big, very big, but kinda awkward and slow. If he got on the gas and switched to a powerhouse brawler style he could be mint. Very popular with the obasans in the audience.

Ryuki Honda was trained by Shuji Kondo, stole his look, and bites his style pretty hard, but he is a solid hand, has decent charisma, and of the four pictured is second only to Hayato in developing himself as a character in addition to being a wrestler.

Kenoh vs Shiozaki and Jake Lee vs Fujita weren't very good. Miyahara vs Anzai was the best of the year for me but I haven't seen Takagi vs Mochizuki. Kitamiya and Ishii was also really mediocre, don't get the love unless you're a Meltzerdrone that think Ishii is the GOAT.

I like both Lee and Fujita but they just didn't click, it was very very slow and lacked in intensity and about 20 minutes in you knew 100% it was gonna end in a draw. Kenoh vs Shiozaki was also largely unimpressive, Kenoh had an incredible year in 2023 with his N1 run, particularly vs Jake, the title match with Jake, the tag team run with Soya, the match with Nakajima, the Kaito match at the start of the year and the Naito match and even this year the Soya match and the Wagner match were far better too, Shiozaki's pretty cooked, the two matches he had with Jake weren't very good either.

Sato is a 16 year veteran but mostly as a journeyman junior weight, wrestling everywhere from AJPW to GLEAT to DDT to BJW and Tenryu Project. He was trained by Minoru Suzuki and has a background in martial arts, so his work is pseudo shoot.

Abe is bit younger but still has 9 years to his name as a pro. He's a devotee of BattleArts, lots of strikes and a bit of comedy. A fixture in BJPW tags with his partner Takuya Nomura as the "Astronauts," one of the best tag teams in the world today. Also frequents Basara, AJPW, Zero-1, 666 and wXw.

Kinda related but there was a really good Japanese documentary about Kazushi Sakuraba's MMA career. Basically mainly focuses on the Gracie Hunter aspect of it. The part I most remember is that it ends with an interview of Helio Gracie in Brazil who was just a completely broken human being seething with infinite hatred that his entire legacy was exposed and destroyed by a tiny Japanese man. I like to think that is how he died, a bitter spite filled old man.

I wouldn't be surprised if promoters see blood in the water and are looking to shoot their shot. Plenty of Japanese wrestling fans are dissatisfied with the state of NJPW right now and have been vocal about it. Look at the poll for the Dominion main event and Kidani constantly cope posting on Xitter.

At least in the case of AJPW there might be a bit of vindictiveness there since AJPW agreed to be part of the All Together show, and then the steering committee, which is more than likely heavily influenced by NJPW, decided that the first event should be on the same day as a major AJPW show.

GLEAT uploaded a bunch of build up interviews for it last week. Talk about tonal whiplash. The interviews were done in the GLEAT style of serious cinematic style, but then the show opens with a Dieno match and felt like a DDT show the whole time.

What are people's favourite puro youtubers/podcasters?
I've been enjoying Kim Justice's Wrestling Road's series on Misawa and Kawada's rivalry. The level of detail, especially about their early lives, is impressive. Plus there's lots of great footage used in them.

I'd like a podcast that can keep me up to date with current puro news, though. I'm just getting back into wrestling after quite a long while not watching and don't have the time to watch absolutely everything, so a nice round-up kind of show would be perfect.

Bahu's history of FMW is pretty good if you can handle a profoundly autistic nerd trying to explain 40+ years of obscure Japanese and territory wrestling history to a braindead deathmatch fan with a really bad stutter. Thankfully the deathmatch fucked ends up moving to China and ghosting him at some point during the series, so Bahu just finishes it out bouncing shit off of his wife until she gets annoyed at how autist all this wrestling shit is and fucks off too. Eventually Bahu just finished the series by himself. Sadly that best part happens at the end of the series when he is just following up on all the remnants of FMW so there isn't too much going on.

Mrs. Baba wanted to keep things the same. Misawa wanted to modernize the product, since All Japan's atmosphere was still stuck in the 70's while the competition (New Japan) was lightyears ahead in terms of presentation.

Still it would have been nice if they kept it strong together instead of splitting up. Although Misawa certainly didn't have the booking prowess or eye for talent Baba did IMO. The guy who ended Kobashi's legendary reign is just a piece of trivia the obvious example.

I think Shelley prioritizes his day job as a physical therapist over wrestling and would not want a full-time WWE/AEW schedule.
He pulled out of a ton of shows during Covid because he worked with immunocompromised patients and didn't want to risk getting infected at wrestling shows.

Reminds me of that gaijin that was in the Champion Carnival, Lord Crewe. Evidentially he was asked to work more dates with AJPW since he was over with the fans, but he declined because he works for hospice back home and a lot of old people and people with terminal illness rely on him to drive them to the doctor and deliver meals.
