Truthfully if this is the case then that's the best case scenario that they could've done. I was glad with the angle just being swept under the rug but I can see how that'd look shitty for MJF to come back and not even address it. So that let him do exactly that while sweeping it back under the rug. Lets both him and Cole move on

Such a bizarre decision. You can just bring MJF back and try to salvage your shitty creative and then finish this when Cole can wrestle again. Why go halfway and "tie a bow" on an angle you can't actually do a match paying off?

Something I'm not 100% on, is if Tony actually tacks on "Time Off For Injury" onto the end of a current contract (thus extending it).

Here's my guess: Tony doesn't have boiler plate contracts. Some guys it applies to. Some guys it doesn't.

Everyone has a different contract (or at least maybe Tony offers 3-5 different kinds of contracts).

that tracks. There was an interview a while back where they asked brett from GCW about AEW guys working dates and basically said tony just makes shit up as he goes along. Some guys can do it some guys can't and it's case by case even with guys he has used before.
