If you thought Jey was going to beat him in any of their matches, then you're a dumbass. No amount of promos changed that Roman won all of his matches the same exact way after a point. If he had lost the title at least once and then got it back, that would have been different, but after he beat Brock at WM38, it was the same shit until Sami joined.
People completely forget just how cold the story was until Sami and Drew heated it up again. 2021 post-Mania is one of the most boring periods for the Bloodline ever. And that's not even getting started on the post-Summerslam 2023 after jimmy turned heel.
The Bloodline story is legitimately great, but let's not pretend like it never got completely stale and cold at times. Had Roman beat Cody at WM40, we'd still be having these same Bloodline promos, but without the champion actually being there. I'll take Cody spinning his wheels a bit but actually being present onscreen over that shit because at least the other wrestlers can compete for the title when Roman fucks off.
