A direct democracy has each individual voting age citizen vote on every single law and motion.
Switzerland does that.
America doesn't. America has representatives who are elected once every 4 years and they do all the voting for you.
That's a republic.
What makes America a Constitutional Republic as a gouvernment form is that the representatives have to uphold the Constitution. A bit like the Magna Carta and the Bill of Rights in Britain, the Constitution is an attempt to prevent corruption.
Of course if malicious organisations control every single representative and judge, that won't matter.
The principle remains the same though.
The key issue here is that the normie audience of the political theatre doesn't actually know what a real democracy is.
The media, teachers, politicians, they throw the word around the way marks cry out jobbing and kayfabe and similar things, without know what it really means.
Ancient Athens was a democracy once, but Greece today isn't. Switzerland is a democracy today.
It's quite a strict definition.
