They've been conditioned to only care about debuts. They will go to great lengths to get excited about the idea that someone from WWE will come in, while pretending that they aren't all former edrones.
The shows make no sense so the only people who are ever over are debuting talent and guys returning from injury. There is nothing else to be excited about

LA Knight has been in WWE for 3 years and has yet to hold a single WWE championship. Ospreay/Mone/Okada have been in AEW for 3 months and all already have titles, Edge is (was) 8 months + title. None are as over to the AEW audience as LA Knight is to the WWE audience.

AEW fan cares about who they are told to care about e.g. Champions and Meltzer darlings.
