>>14837411I mean, they've built a large number of talents from scratch over the years... let's not act like it was too long ago that people weren't clamoring for Okada versus Naito (both home grown talents). And I don't recall anyone talking much about Will Ospreay, Jay White, or even Kenny Omega until they made names for themselves in New Japan.
The fact that they haven't had much luck the past couple years is that booking was disrupted suddenly due to covid. It takes time to establish stars. It's even harder to build stars when you don't have much in the way of established talent anymore because another company hired them all up out from under you.
But let's not act as though New Japan doesn't have a much stronger track record at building stars than AEW.
