They just announced that Impact now will air live on TNA+ at the same time it's airing on AXS, instead of being uploaded after.

You don't need to be that cynical. I think it's great for TNA that you can watch the show along with everyone else even if you don't get AXS. I might check out the Impact gamethread tomorrow.

I assume they know that AXS is a very unpopular channel that most cable companies don't even carry. They know the company can't grow viewership if that's the only way to watch it. And they upload the episodes to the service after the TV broadcast ends, so I have to think that a lot of people were already just watching on TNA+. I bet they'll barely see any difference in the money AXS is bringing in.

This. Comcast, for instance, doesn't carry it. Cable channel lineups are getting leaner, and even channels like FXX, IFC, and Boomerang are potentially facing the chopping block for lack of sufficient content. Fringe channels like AXS are dying off fast.

No, it's an all new app made by Endeavor actually. Whether it's worth the money is a matter of opinion, but the app works great now.
