Mina isn't a bad choice though. She usually doesn't win big matches anyway but she's charming enough and good enough in the ring to win people over.
She's about the best ambassador for Stardom to the US that I can think of.

Maybe CMLL can convince Mercedes to come to Arena Mexico to put over Steph and her CMLL Title later this year.

The Toni Storm one isn't so bad at all though.
She was a World of Stardom champion for a little over 250 days from 2017 - 2018. Having a former top champion go over someone who usually doesn't win the big matches isn't so bad at all. And, unlike other Forbidden Door stories, they've actually built that one a bit.
Still critical of a lot of what AEW does but I'll give them credit where credit is due.

Not like stardom sent over Mayu, Maika, or Saori. You have the story built in with Mina and Mariah being partners in Stardom but now she is under Toni's wing. Stephanie will probably get her win back at a CMLL show.

Oh, no, you've got me all wrong. Mina is absolute awesome and one of my favorites. Plus hottest chick on the roster.
I'm just saying that on a roster with Mayu Iwatani on it, Mina isn't the best worker they've got. But she can definitely go, has good psychology (especially working the leg before going for the figure four), and puts on a good match.

And not just Mayu. I'd put Syuri, Hazuki, AZM, Kitto, Tam, Momo, Natsupoi, Suzu, and Anou above her in terms of ring talent.
That's not a complaint about Mina. There is some really great talent in Stardom. But she's really good and has a lot going for her that those names don't have going for them in terms of performing for Western audiences.
