There were two wrestling booms in WWF/WWE: the Rock n Wrestling boom of the mid-80s, and the Attitude Era of the late 90s. That's it. The wrestling industry today is propped up by Saudi money and international interest. Pro wrestling is more niche today than it has ever been in its entire history. Theyre just lucky that TV is dying and live sports is the only thing keeping it alive. Wrestling runs a fresh show every week, so it has value for now, until execs catch on. Most people just don't give a shit. Nobody today is anywhere near as well-known as Hogan, Andre, Savage, Piper, Austin, Rock, Hall, Taker, Nash, et. al. The industry is running on fumes.
