for all the money he made in WCW, his actual time there was hot garbage. in the long run, it's better that the montreal screwjob happened because it gave Bret some lasting relevancy outside of WWF killing his brother. and keep in mind that he had a lot of hype from the screwjob following him to WCW but they still didn't know what to do with him. so imagine how much shittier it would have been if there was no screwjob hype. there would have been zero interest. hard to imagine anything being worse than his actual run but it would have been way smaller and crappier.
he should thank vince or shawn or russo or corny or whoever the fuck is in the running to take credit for Montreal. it's what keeps him relevant after decades of nothing.
