Though also WWE should start paying for travel expenses or wrestling gear for talent afaik they still don't do that unless you're a main eventer.

I don't see anything wrong with this. Per appearance means they are not under a permanent contract, so if the talent involved in this don't like it, they can walk away at any time. I'm guessing they don't do that because the money is good, and they don't have any other realistic opportunities.
