Also yes I think you're right that their is a certain regression to a simpler time. If you think about it, guns, cars etc. are bought because of possible actions in the future (needing to defend yourself or hunt for food, needing to go somewhere), whereas millenials have had their futures curtailed and thus turn to the past. This is great for corporations who can endlessly repackage their childhoods and sell it to them (hence the endless slop reproduced in popular culture.)
