>>14929025I'm not the person you're arguing with but I'm happy to have this debate with you if you want to feign intelligence. There are plenty of titles in the US from high school indy feds that struggle to draw 300 fans that have been defended in Canada and the UK in similar high school indy feds. That doesn't make them World Titles in anything but name only.
If you don't have a global presence -- 7-9 figure TV deals on multiple continents, streaming deals, social media with millions of followers, etc -- then your "world title" is nowhere near the same prestige of WWE, AEW, TNA, NJPW or other established brands.
Personally, I consider the post-WCW World Title to be a World Title because it frequently main evented TV shows and PPVs.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SummerSlam_(2001)>In the main event, Booker T defended the WCW Championship against The Rock.If Mark Briscoe was in the main event for Forbidden Door or any other PPV, over Swerve Strickland, AEW would become a laughingstock. And that's because the ROH "World Title" is a laughingstock title that has not been treated as a World Title-level championship in AEW or anywhere else. You cannot merely purchase a promotion and it's titles and then go around anointing World Champions, doesn't work that way. If Jericho retired tomorrow and was added to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2032, they'd call him a 7-time World Champion, not 8.
