Punk's body is shot. He'll get injured first or second match back again. He's old and when he didn't get into good enough shape when he was younger. Working out isn't just about building muscle for aesthetic and functional reasons but also because it helps protect your muscles, joints, etc from injuries later on. Punk didn't do the work when was younger, and now the effect is clear. He can't do something physical like wrestling without things breaking and testing. Many guys have worked a lot harder for a lot longer than Punk and their bodies aren't breaking down like his, and that's because they took training seriously. Punk has always looked and performed like he doesn't do shit in the gym.
