>>14948634It is not particularly uncommon. I think it has to do with how gender roles work within society's attitude toward sex. It's very male-centric, the object of sexiness and desire is the woman. She is the prize, the attractive one who the men compete for. There are men who are considered sexy yes and straight women and gay men are attracted to that. But by and large, sexiness is considered a woman's virtue.
So it's not surprising that this rubs off even on straight women, and that women being open to having casual fun with other women even just as a joke is a lot less taboo than with two men. In terms of how many actual real lesbians there are, i.e. women who are legitimately sexually and romantically attracted to other women primarily, it's probably about the same as gay men. But straight women are more likely to be open to flirting or kissing or whatever else with other women, even if they get no sexual enjoyment from it, it usually isn't disgusting to them in the same way.
I have met a fair share of completely 100% straight women who have more of a man's attitude towards it and would be repulsed by the idea of kissing another woman. They are still the majority. But a much smaller majority than with men.
