It's the same problem WWE and so many other promotions are facing: "What now?" The whole "story" was winning the title, and now that story is finished and they've started nothing else.
On the one hand it's the fault of the promotion and the booker for setting up nothing further that actually utilizes the fact these individuals are champions that will help grow the promotion and the others within it. Yet on the other hand, it is also the fault of the "champions" for seeming content to do nothing but hold onto their belts. It exposes self-centeredness to feel no need to take initiative in building narratives that make the promotion more interesting as a place and product, and actually involving others in a way that spotlights them and elevates them.
A champion isn't just a visual symbol of their company. They should be the driving force behind it, building momentum in so many ways that even some get missed. But here we have effectively cardboard cut-outs.
Does something seriously need to change with TJPW? If they want to grow, yes.
