Funk doesn't count he comes from a wrestling legacy family and went from territory to territory and had runs in all the "main" companies for decades, it'd be like calling Lawler an indy shitter because he always does indy shows.

Youth and Quackenbush are the first "indie shitters" as you'd describe one today. It's a post territory thing.
