Here's the difference between WWE raiding the British indies, and AEW raiding New Japan
When WWE raided the British indies, they were taking from an already tiny and unserious industry, giving the best stars a platform to be seen worldwide, and then took the best ones like Gunther over to America to make them worldwide superstars, in a promotion that fans are loving more than they have in decades.
What AEW did, was take top talents from the thriving Japanese wrestling industry, and put them in a company with rapidly dwindling viewership and fan interest. It will take New Japan years to recover, and AEW never will.
