If Cody has any say in it he probably won't turn heel. Look at his final run in AEW. Even when people were sick of him and booing him out of the building, he never turned. He fancies himself a Cena type these days, so I doubt he'll ever turn again.

He literally asked Cena what he should do about the split reacitons. Cena told him to just keep at it. Cody did just that, Cody got lowballed by Tiny so left for WWE and is now the top face in wrestling. He will not turn heel for a long time, if ever. If/when the crowds really start turning on him, they will probably first try cooling him off by slipping down the card.

They turned on him because of rumours of drama backstage and him fighting with the Elite. They also turned on Brandi because rumours she was fighting with Kenny over the women's division. They try to claim it had anything to do with booking when they still have dogshit filling up the show to this day and only turn on people if the perception is that they aren't getting along with the Elite or Tony.

He didn't get lowballed, his wife got lowballed. As in she wasn't even offered a contract renewal. It was either stand with his wife or stand with his job. Kind of a no brainer on what to choose unless you just hate your family.
