I just think you cannot leave Tony’s comments on it out of the discussion because it adds valuable context because he is the owner and sometimes on screen character of the company. Like it or not Tony saying that and then everyone seeing what actually happened was a nothing burger makes him look like a weak fool. And since he’s their leader is subsequently makes everyone under him, and their product look weak and foolish.
Logically you are right. But, things like public perception and long term sentiment are not a 2+2 = 4 kinda gimmick.
