From Fightful:
>A source within the Performance Center has raised some concerns about CM Punk’s physical health, claiming that the star is in “worryingly bad shape”. Punk, 45, was injured during the Royal Rumble and has been working hard to return to the ring, at least to all outside sources. One insider, however, is concerned about Punk’s physical health and has cast some doubt on the idea of an in-ring return.
>”His injury’s healed but he can’t currently pass any of the physical tests that need completed before he can wrestle a match. We ask everyone to run a quarter mile at the bare minimum, it took Punk 33 minutes to do that. He was winded immediately and even threw up. We rescheduled it for another day and he didn’t do any better. He’s also struggling on weight exercises. We ask everyone to lift a 25 pound block from the ground to their waist, hold it, then lift it over their head for 3 seconds before returning to waist level and then the ground. Punk struggled to get it off the ground, then refused to go any further.”
>This source believes Punk may be suffering from an undisclosed injury or may be skimping out on training.
>”His physical fitness is frankly appalling, it feels like a WWE fan walked in here, instead of a star. I also feel pressured to clear him for in ring work but, as it stands right now, I don’t see him being fit to compete.”
>We asked this source if he believes there may be some other underlying cause to these issues, such as fatigue or long Covid.
>”It’s possible but it’s also just as likely this is age catching up to him and an inability (or unwillingness) to adapt. We’ve seen incredible body transformations from the likes of AJ Styles and Cody Rhodes despite injuries, but Punk doesn’t seem to have figured out the same secret.”
