Had been a fan for ages and not only did I NOT "gatekeep" but I went out of my way to help new fans that were interested in seeing more. I had been a supporter of Omega in the sense that he was a flippy shitter that seemed to have improved, slowed down, added more strikes, etc.
...but then he got the belt and catered to the worst of the worst indyriffic fans and bush league garbage. Cody sucked in NJPW, hadn't done a thing to earn a shot at the IWGP, let alone multiple shots. Avoiding 1v1 with Ibushi because of childish nonsense. Melodramatic "feuds" and goofy presentation ramping up to 11... it was a blessing when it seemed like he was jumping ship. I was glad AEW was founded because it would quarantine that horseshit... how wrong I was...
