>>15041302I can only speak for myself, anon. I've been a pro wrestling fan since the mid 1980s. Of course I can appreciate a match with solid ring work and psychology, such as Ric Flair v Barry Windham from Battle of the Belts II (Feb 1986). I just watched that one a few days ago.
But there is a lot more to pro wrestling than the bell-to-bell match. And I can appreciate a short, 5 minute brawl just as much as a 60 minute broadway, if done well of course.
I can't stand the heatless gymnastics routines of today. Kayfabe is ignored and wrestling is treated ironically. I hate that. I've known wrestling is a work since I was a little kid. But it should be treated as legit. Same as an action movie, for example. Treat it seriously. Don't do obviously cooperative spots. Don't do non-stop high risk moves in throwaway TV matches with zero stakes. SELL. This is all part of psychology. This should be obvious but most wrestlers today don't bother.
This isnt limited to AEW either.
