Bret was literally away for 300 days out of the year. He was in the undercard during the national expansion when there were 20-30 house shows every week and on top when business slowed.
Yes, Bret fucked around with rats and whores and yes, the wife turned into a porker without a husband to tell her to stop overeating.
My headcanon on the whole thing with Sunny had her making Bret promise in front of the kids that it was never with that perfect 10/10 who was always on the road and friendly with Bret too. So he'll never cop to it for as long as he lives.

Bret is pretty open about his infidelity (even bragging about it really) in his book but he never cops to sleeping with Sunny.
