China cannot keep growing without corporations paying slave labor wages (and making it impossible for regular people to start their own corporations) and America cannot keep growing without convincing workers to work for much less value than they bring to corporations (and constantly making it more difficult to launch your own corporation). We're seeing an increasing amount of lawfare, of Democrats going after their political enemies via unlimited public funds, while Republicans are forced to retreat into the thus-far-still-profitable suburbs and rural areas. But then Democrats turn around and withhold public funds from said suburban/rural companies in favor of leftist-run urban companies. It's all a complete mess.
TLDR though is I agree, the CCP balances just enough Freedom with Authoritarianism to keep China growing
