How do you cope with this? I feel like everything I get into used to be good 20-30 years ago and just sucks balls nowadays, from cars to card games. And no I'm not a jaded boomer, I'm early 20s, nor am I a contrarianfag

Stick to the old stuff, anon. If you haven't already, I recommend going through all of the Saturday Night's Main Event run. You get to see big stars and big angles from the golden age of WWF, and with good production values. It's not the best for wrestling matches (in terms of workrate), but for everything else it's a ton of fun.

If you're more wrestling focused, the 80s NWA specials Battle of the Belts and Crockett Cup are up on YouTube if you search around a bit. All of them were there last I checked. These were NWA cross-territory super cards but Battle of the Belts was hosted by CWF while Crockett Cup was hosted by JCP. Eventually both JCP and CWF, along with Mid-South/UWF would become WCW, so you will recognize a lot of future WCW stars on these shows.

The act of observation changes the thing being observed, so everything getting cleaned up and having 20 more cameras pointed at it has cheapened the entirety of reality, according to the existential crises I've been having for years now. Just keep watching the tapes I guess

It's because kayfabe is dead. It's not that crowds didn't know wrestling was a work. Crowds have known that since the 50s at least (except little kids, of course). But pro wrestling would treat the product as real and go out of their way to help crowds suspend their disbelief. In a similar way, a well made movie is "fake" but presents itself as believable so that crowds will buy into it and get emotionally connected.

But today, kayfabe is dead and dusted. Wrestlers practically wink at the crowd that it's fake. They openly cooperate to setup spots. Crowds play along and enjoy it ironically, because you can't get invested in something that's obviously fake.

I'd attend house shows. At least those still maintain one cornerstone of wrestling up, and that is the focus on crowd interaction. I can't imagine how terrible it must be to have an entire show built around working the hard cam.
The japanese and the luchadors have more respect for wrestling as a tradition. I'd imagine that they make for a good time in a live setting. I know i get a lot of enjoyment out of watching them onscreen.
