But according to Russo, Brad Siegel told him that he no longer answered to Bischoff & that they couldn’t afford Hogan anymore.
Who is telling the truth?

Eric and Hogan agreed to the Russo finish with the foot on the chest. Went as planned.

Russo did nothing wrong after because he honored Hulk flexing his creative control to go over in that match. Hulks creative control means he can change the matches or back out, it doesnt mean no one in the company can talk about him.

So Russos promo wasnt protected by Hulks creative control. And the match Russo made after was irrelevant because it involved Booker T and Jeff Jarrett.

If the rules were Hogan controls what he does with the belt, Russo honored that but skirted the boundaries of what was allowed by making "the new WCW belt 2.0"

Basically, its fucking pro wrestling, and Hogan just got his feelings hurt and thats why they couldnt sell it in court.

Hogan had creative control which Trump'ed Russo.

Now look, there is a very small part of me that wants to believe Russo's story about how it was his idea of giving the belt to Booker but if that was true why did Russo give the belt to himself and then feuded with both Goldberg and Booker T?

What did Russo wanna do his version of McMahon/Austin but worse?

yeah both are telling the truth, Russo is in the right and Bischoff and Hogan are in the wrong. I'll never buy "Vince Russo killed WCW" as a narrative because he came in when they were beating a dead horse with the NWO and misusing Bret Hart, he just wanted to give Bret the chances he deserved and put young talent over

Russo helped WWE reach a 2million viewer lead in the ratings through 1998-1999, and by the time he got to WCW, they had stagnated around a high 2million, low 3million in viewers. WWE had 5-7million.

WCW mostly stayed the same over the next year.

He didnt tank the ratings. His creative didnt kill the company. He just helped create a juggernaut and built a championship team, but then people in retrospect expected the fans of that team to follow him to WCW and throw away their jerseys and make the jump, defying their brand loyalty to the exciting product he helped create.

WCW held half of WWEs audience until their demise, going head to head with them.

AEW holds half of WWEs audience and theyre not competing on the same night.
