He wasn't a very big attendance or PPV draw. Those are of course the two most important metrics (PPV now replaced by subscribers for WWE). Following those two comes merchandise sales and then social media engagement.

it's live event content, the only thing keeping tv relevant. nascar is a shadow of its former self and still got a bigger deal, at least to keep up with real inflation. more people attend MLS games than actually watch them on tv and apple still paid out the nose for what they get from it
