I thought this match was kind of boring. Would I appreciate it more if I had been following the storylines? That video promo that plays before the match where Kenny talks about giving up everything, I guess that was supposed to mean something to me?

It's a 4 star match at best that gets kind of annoying at parts but the level of effort is remarkable. Okada/Shibata was better

I did not like it at the time. I've been so disappointed with wrestling these last few years that I'd probably like it a lot more.
I'm thinking about just going back and going through NJPW 2012-2019 and reliving the good times.

Kenny’s iwgp title reign was WOAT tier and exposed him hard. He kept inserting cody and that heatless bc civil war storyline into everything, and it drew less than the prior year. Naito and Okada basically had to come back and re-draw the house again in 2019 from all the damage that Kenny did with his reign. Okada should’ve gone over at Dominion 2018 and held the belt until WK13 where he would drop it to Tana. Kenny should’ve been shuffled off into the tag division with Ibushi for the rest of the year

I've been doing this but I started with the mid-90s. I'm currently up to Dominion 2017. I've been subscribed to NJPW World since 2018 and I just started watching the archive this year because current NJPW is so fucking dismal.
