But it's pretty typical for Christians, especially Protestants, to not bother reading the Bible and just quote verses out of context or even know where it comes from.
You probably see all the time people quoting stuff like Romans or Ephesians when we know with 100% certainty these were written by Paul of Tarsus to congregations and he never personally met Jesus of Nazareth. All of his interpretations are literally second-hand.
But that's what counter-culture does. I was thirteen too once so I get it. C'est la vie.
