It’s a great database. But because the user base is a bunch of gooners uninterested in any wrestling that isn’t currently live on air makes their rating system useless.

The rating system isn't as bad as people make it out to be. You just can't use it to compare different companies
A 9 in a joshi fed is not the same thing as a 9 in WWE, but it's usually the case that a 9 in WWE is better than an 8 in WWE

What you're describing is every reason why it's a bad system. It's all just meaningless because you'll get niche stuff like the joshi fans overrating everything all the time which goes unchecked because other fans don't care enough to watch and accurately rate things. That's not even getting into how it's become used for console warring this past year

The aggregation of scores on cagematch shows how easy wrestling fans are to please. Just look at any other score aggrergation site for any other medium like IMDB or metacritic or MyAnimeList. Only a very select few games or movies on those sites have above a 9 aggregate score where as on cagematch you have hundreds and hundreds of matches above a 9.5. It makes cagematch near useless for finding what is actually the cream of the crop.

Cagematch is great for looking stuff up. Really good for looking stuff like important matches in someone's career, when they got and dropped a title etc
