It was the best of both worlds for a short period because the guys at the top were the bucks, omega and mox. Jericho used his last of his juice to make that mox feud good and has since been a death spiral. Cody was the hottest thing in the company until he meme'd himself out of never getting the top belt because of twitter posts and decided to feud with QT Marshall for a year.
The real problem is the guys with Tony's ear now for their own booking are people like MJF or washed Jericho who both don't understand brevity, especially MJF who shits up like 30 minutes of any dynamite to say or do something he could've done in like 15. Ospreay is retarded and that's the best thing for him, since it lends itself to someone booking his angles without most of his input which would be better if khan was a better booker. Mox stopped caring about presentation or protecting his image and has settled into a role of just showing up and doing things he likes with his friends. Swerve and Hangman whatever you think of them as wrestlers unironically have the best mindset and input into their angles. Toni storm took awhile but is also up there, apparently works with rj city a bit which did her wonders, taking angles from old school hollywood isn't a bad idea.
TL;DR inmates running the asylum can and has produced great wrestling, it's also produced absolute garbage.
