Nevermind the rest of the nWo, who he made cut scripted, WWE-style promos and look like the uncoolest people ever to have lived. It's not hard to have Hall and Nash fuck around and do unpredictable shit, and have Hollywood Hogan cut insane 15 promos about he is literally God and all the nWoites should worship the ground he walks on. There was no chaos in WWF after 2001, or 2000 even. 2000 is when the formula started but the roster was still strong enough to carry it. By 2002 it was firmly cemented as "wrestler walks into fake office to talk to general manager: the show". or "wrestler cuts a boring promo in the ring and some guy's music hits and interrupts him and challenges him to a match"
I don't want to sound like a Russo fanboy but it is obvious Vince McMahon never actually understood the "Crash TV" style or what it was supposed to be in the first place. Crash TV had brawls outside the arena and all kinds of crazy, interwoven stuff going on
The legends like Nash, Booker, and Steiner were used so much better in TNA when they were allowed to just fuck around and be themselves. You got some legendary segments out of them that people still talk about. Nash in the X Division and the MEM in general is some of the funniest shit those guys did since the late 90s
This is turning into an essay but I basically just think Vince was on a power trip after WCW closed which is why he fired Hall for the plane ride from hell despite other people doing way worse. Vince had his style and he knew people had no choice but to get with it or leave
