Killing off the "competition" serves no real purpose at this point. For starters, there isn't much of it. But other companies serve a valuable purpose of being fishing holes for the occasional talents.
We live at a time where people can watch other companies and WWE. I mostly watch Japanese stuff but I still tune in. But those of us who watch other stuff are a tiny niche market. Not really going to win us over by killing the thing we like to watch when there's room for both.
