Zack started out as a body double for Edge who cut his hair short and slicked it back and did a Jersey Shore/Long Island Guido gimmick (even though he is white as fuck, unlike Robert Stone, who actually looked like a Jersey Shore wop even though he was Aussie brown).
Zack was a loser heel jobber until he started his web show which had him turn babyface and it led to him getting popular and then he got turned into a plucky underdog everyone rooted for. Which, even after his burial for the sin of getting over without permission, he kept until he got fired from the WWE and after his brief run in AEW, reinvented himself as the big heel he currently is.
