It's called the panopticon effect. It's not just the idea that everyone thinks everybody's watching him, it's the attempts to get everyone's attention with shit in the expectation that everybody's watching.
All of it is fear-based, rooted in nervousness and insecurity and for a shoot brother it's fucking pathetic spineless weak and FAT.
But most people suffer from that fear and submit to it, so this whole virtue signaling, ragebaiting, judgement seeking, jailgating social media bullshit is an inevitable outcome.
The PG era wouldn't have happened in the entire world, across all forms of entertainment, if people didn't use social media with their real name.
