Wrestling is much better today if you don't actually like or understand pro wrestling and just want a series of somewhat impressive athletic displays with no regards for execution or properly fitting them into the confines of a pro wrestling match.
KENTA and Marufuji were hard-carrying the shit out of wrestling back then and producing vastly better matches than anything gayew ever has with it's shitty black/gold NXT larp.

The reverse is true. Wrestlers don't bother to keep kayfabe even in the ring, as they openly cooperate to setup spots, are unable to improvise so all matches are planned from start to finish and look fake as fuck, and work in absurd flippy spots that don't make any logical sense within the context of either wrestling or fighting.

"moves per minute" isn't the benchmark of good wrestling but a bunch of terminally online dorks who don't understand the old appeal of wrestling conned themselves into believing that it is because so few wrestlers now have the charisma in or out of the ring to get people invested. A benchmark of whether someone's opinion on wrestling is worth listening to at all is asking him if he thinks the average macho man or ric flair match is better or worse than the average dave meltzer 4*+ match today. If they say the spotmonkey "classic" is better you can immediately disregard anything else they say.
