Hogan's heel turn was the impetus for WCW's boost in popularity, without him and the nWo WCW couldn't compete with the WWF
without the nWo there'd be no crow Sting
Austin had to leave WCW to develop his character into what made him popular
as much as I respect Bret there was no way that he'd make the kind of impact that Hogan did if he signed earlier and was used better than what they did with him

The streak had run its course, Nash was the most over babyface next to DDP and the wolfpack was over as fuck. The mistake was the finger poke, not ending the nWo and not giving Goldberg much to do in 1999 after he lost the title.

WCW's fall in 1999 was a combo of Nash's full retard booking of TV shows and Nash getting the title and absolutely tanking their live events and ppv buys. It can't be understated how much damage this Congoid cock holster did in a short space of time.
