WBD needs to pay down debt and a large cash settlement is exactly what banks would like. They could settle several accounts balances and de-leverage the company to where they aren't going to be at risk of going chapter 11 when the capeshit movies fail to deliver.
None of this money is going to be used for AEW, whatever they have in the budget/the money guys want to give them is whatever the deal is going to be. Then lawyers go over it along with insurance providers.
