Tony wants to rename ROH to AEW:ROH. It’s apart of rebranding ROH and it’s included in the package for the renewal rights .

Bryan can’t stand ROH at this point because it’s too much product for anyone to watch. They can’t keep track of storylines and makes things more annoying.

The weekly show is terrible. Maybe if it's on TV, it would be less terrible, but Collision is a better version of ROH and it sucks too.

I don't know how it would work creatively. There's obviously not enough star power there for it to be its own brand. If they just use AEW roster members, it will continue to be the fourth show and have a bunch of jobbers, lowcarders and random people on it. Tony doesn't have rookies to use like NXT does.

Ignoring all of that, I don't know how much demand there is for it. Nobody likes ROH. Nobody watches the weekly show. I think asking people to watch AEW four nights a week on TV is too much, but as we've seen, they can tack on another hour to Rampage/Collision and not lose that many viewers.

I think the real reason Tony wants it on TV so bad is that he fully owns it while I've heard WBD owns some of AEW.

For the record all Dave says is "Tony said it was brought up", so he has the same amount of info Tony already gave out himself in that interview. Most likely it was brought up, shot down and Tony's currently huffing hopium that the "AEW: Ring of Honor" branding might change their minds. But most likely it won't because there's already too much AEW product nobody down to even the diehards want to watch, as anons are saying.

ROH is such a dead brand. People forget that they were in almost empty buildings before COVID happened. Bullet Club basically kept them from going out of business.

ROH is just Dark and Elevation with different logos and graphics. ROH uses the same exact roster as AEW and ROH and AEW belts are defended on both shows. Literally the only thing separating the two is the name of the show. WWE at least tried to make WWECW feel different from Raw and Smackdown.

It wouldn’t surprise me if ROH was included just because Tony needs to save face after turning down the CW deal. However I would imagine it’s just a throw in on AEW’s side, and not actually increasing the renewal fees to include it.
