Tony is not good at booking wrestling obviously. But that doesn’t make Freddie Prinze Jr. more “qualified”. Tony’s been a booker now for 5 years. Even if it’s 5 years of shit I don’t like that’s still experience. Meltzer even claimed the guy was booker of the year multiple times. Freddie Prinze worked for creative for a few months helping to polish story beats when he was bored of being Buffy’s house husband. He mainly helped wrestlers with promos then came back years later and worked with Kevin Dunn for another few months. He’s never once booked wrestling.
His qualifications are around a years worth of non relevant work in the industry and being a C-list celebrity that unironically enjoys wrestling. You mine as well hire that tit cow from 2 Broke Girls who tweeted one time saying she liked WWE or Bob Dylan who said he always looked up to gorgeous George. They have about the same qualifications to book. Shit, hire Freddie Prinze Sr. He would about as good of a job as anyone else.

No one wants to air Pro Wrestling because General audiences don't like it, it's all the same programming as WWE which owns the market, the audience that Will tune into a competitor is mostly broke and uneducated so no value in advertising, and the whole thing feels like a scam. Since the broadcaster doesn't own in whole or in part the IP there's no merch benefits, and there's no syndication potential or value.
