>>15376186As someone who has experience using an antenna - not just typing up social media posts about what it might be like - it's a lot more complicated than it sounds. To get the most amount of channels in the highest quality, you need to place the antenna on a deck or patio, which can mean running a 25+ foot coax cable outside, meaning you either need to keep a door/window cracked at all times, or you need to drill a hole through the wall. Good luck doing that if you rent. The signal also goes to shit in bad weather.
And none of this matters if you don't live close enough to the retransmission towers. You can live in a town of 100k people and be lucky to get 2 channels. Most people are not going to go through all of this effort just to watch the occasional local news or Survivor, they'll just pay for limited cable or pirate shows online.
I know the tranny wet dream is for either Raw or Smackdown to drop under a million viewers, but that won't happen for a very long time, if ever.
